WANA (Oct 22) – The President of Iran emphasized that membership in BRICS and attending the BRICS Summit in Russia is a good opportunity to strengthen Iran’s relations with the world and to put an end to U.S. hegemony globally.

Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking today, Tuesday, October 22nd, before leaving Tehran for Russia, told reporters that this trip is taking place at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He continued: “Countries that were seeking interaction with each other formed the BRICS organization to establish unity, cohesion, and multilateralism, and to control the unchallenged power that the U.S. and the dollar have created in the world, so that countries can engage in trade and interactions with one another.”

The Iranian President added: “We, the BRICS member countries, can achieve good cooperation in areas such as agriculture, energy, industry, trade, and tourism. This trip is an opportunity to have discussions with the presidents of Russia, China, India, and several other countries. Each president will present their position on BRICS.”

Pezeshkian further stated: “I believe BRICS will strengthen our ties with the world. The unilateralism that the U.S. is pursuing, where it sanctions any country it wishes, can be countered by membership in such organizations. This is the first time we are attending the summit as an official member of BRICS, and many countries are also requesting official membership.”
